About the vFire Officer App

This topic contains instruction on the vFire Officer app, introduced in 9.2. For more information on the vFire app, which supports users from 9.7 and analysts from 9.10.1, see About the vFire App.

With Alemba’s vFire Officer app, analysts can access their calls on the go, viewing details of calls assigned or forwarded to them. They can forward the call to another analyst or group, update the call notes, review history, change the status or close a call.

The app is not designed to replicate all the functions of the full vFire Core system. Instead, it provides a convenient opportunity to manage your call list when you are away from your computer. This app enables analysts to keep an eye on their updates when in the field. It is not intended for use by external contacts or users.

Before analysts can use the app, the system administrator needs to carry out the following steps to configure the system. Select the appropriate links for full instruction.

  1. Ensure that your system meets the prerequisites.
  2. Configure the environment for a DMZ, if Windows Authentication is enabled in vFire Core.
  3. Disable SSL if you do not have SSL running on your system.
  4. Enable the logout timer if you want it to differ from the standard application logout timer.

Analysts then need to carry out the following to access and use the app. Select the appropriate links for full instruction.

  1. Familiarize yourself with the prerequisites.
  2. Download the app.
  3. Install the app.
  4. Configure the app.
  5. Log in.
  6. Then you can use call lists and view and update calls.
